Dushyanth is to perform best of his original music and number one Hits of Michael Jackson...

Story

With his maiden cinematic venture young Sampath Sri Roshan makes his first appearance as a filmmaker with 'Julia' while another young man Charith Abeysinghe plays the role of producer. Julia, an international production with Sri Lanka-England coordination has completed its shooting and will soon be ready for screening.

The film is also starred by the two young men making maiden appearances on the silver screen. Among the others in the cast include the veterans Ravindra Randeniya, Robin Fernando, Veena Jayakody, Sriyantha Mendis, Rex Kodippili, Sandun Wijesiri, and others Sanet Dikkumbura, Bandula Suriyabandara, Teddy Vidyalankara, Sasanthi Jayasekara, Nadeesha Hemamali, Harsha Bulathsinghala and Achala Walpola.

The film, a quadrangle revolving around the main characters Julia, Dilru, Dev and Shakie whose lives are intertwined and interlinked. Julia, the innocent and naïve young woman enjoying the bliss of youth is fascinated, like any other girl of her age, by trendy and handsome young men. Unfortunately for her, the youth who steals her heart is a cunning manipulator by the name of Dilru. With his deceptive good looks and clothes he is sure to attract women at will. And Julia is no exception. She meets Dilru and falls head over heels in love. But she is not aware that the young man is in Sri Lanka after fleeing England as he is suspected of involvement in the murder of a young girl, a Sri Lankan expatriate. Julia's whole life takes a new turn with this fateful meeting.

Meanwhile Dev, Dilru's bosom pal when he was in England comes to Sri Lanka in search of his 'friend'. However, they do not meet as Dilru has left the country prior to the arrival of Dev. Instead, as fate had decreed, Dev meets Julia when it was least expected or anticipated.

And the rest of the story shows how their interactions affect their own youthful lives and those of others around them? They are faced with a multitude of issues and they search for their own solutions. How would these issues be resolved?


Description

Having successfully completed on-location shoot in London the production team of Julia has just returned to the country. 'It was a very rewarding experience for all of us. I'm more than satisfied with the outcome" young director Sampath Sri Roshan said on his return to the island. 'Everything went according to plan and it augurs well for the film' added Charith Abeysinghe the producer of the film who also could be the youngest film producer in Sri Lanka.

The duo will go down in the annals of history of the Sri Lankan film industry as the first to introduce to the country the latest technological innovation - High Definition Cinema.

Julia also had a blend of experience with the experimental group technical crew which included both Sri Lankan and English. Veteran Donald Karunaratne played the role of cinematographer while Ranjit Mathangaweera handled the make-up artiste's department. They were joined by British National Jenney Muun as the editor.

Among the others leading stunt performer Teddy Vidyalankara handled stunts while Sujeewa Gunaratne contributed as the Art Director, hair styles is Sarath Ranaweera and music score is handled by Ranga Dassanaike, the talented son of veteran music director late Sarath Dassanaike. Assistant Director Ranjit Prasanna, Production Manager Jagath Nissan and line producer Namal Attygalle and still photographer is lndika Mallawarachchi.

The lyrics of the film are by Dr. Ajantha Ranasinghe, Kelum Sri Mal, Ananda Padmasiri and Namal Attygalle. Melodies of the songs are by Ranga Dassanaike, Bhathiya Jayakody, Kasun Kalhara, Gratien Ananda and Nuwan Thenuwara.

Kasun Kalhara, Uresha Ravihari, Gratian Ananda, Bachchi Susan, Charith Abeysinghe, Ashahthi Sandria lend their voices to the film.

New York is one such story of 3 young friends whose beautiful lives are turned upside down by larger events beyond their control. At this point enters Agent Roshan (Irrfan), an FBI undercover agent who sets the ball rolling for a series of tumultuous events that turn the lives of these friends into a dangerous and thrilling roller coaster ride.

Omar (Neil) is convicted for carrying arms in his taxi. In essence it’s a well plotted by FBI officer Roshan (Irrfan) and his boss to get Omar to work as an secret agent for them and pass through the family the life of Samir (John) and Maya (Katrina) who were Omar’s college friends 7-8 years back.

Roshan mistrusts Samir of running a terrorism cell and he wants to nab him in flagrante delicto. Omar is only left to comply to Roshan’s commands but he agrees on one condition that the FBI won’t kill Samir if he agrees to surrender. Years back when in college Omar, Maya and Samir were thick buddies and Omar silently loved Maya but when she expressed her love for Samir, Omar had gone away from them. What truth Omar uncovers when he meets Samir and Maya both now a married couple with a small kid Danielle and what it all leads to forms the rest of the film.
